Nelson Cavalheiro, Professional Player & Coach since 1990, Founding Member of the PGA Portugal and its current President.

“Fully PGA Qualified” and National Level IV Coach by PGA Portugal/FPG/ IPDJ & Confederation of Professional Golf (PGA’s of Europe). He is also a member of the National Golf Coaches Association.

With more than 40 years linked to sport as a player and as a Teaching Professional in national golf courses like Palmares Golf, Parque da Floresta, Morgado do Reguengo and in Switzerland.

He also worked with the “David Leadbetter Golf Academy” where he went to Orlando, United States United of America, from 1996 – 1998, becoming an certified Instructor & Director of “David Leadbetter Golf Academy” Portugal at Pestana Golf Resort between 1998 – 2003.

He is a lecturer for PGA Portugal in the National Golf Teaching Programme, for upcoming golf coaches of the Portuguese Golf Federation and tutor of trainees in the same course.

In the competitive aspect, he played the Portugal Open and Madeira Open from 1998 to 2010. He represented Portugal both in the junior classes in European Championships and as a Professional in the European Championships of the CPG.

Currently he is the Head Professional at the Amendoeira Golf Resort Golf Academy since 2008.
